Fernanda Torres
|
An Associate of Allen, Hansen & Maybrown P.S., Fernanda Torres is a graduate of New York University Law School and Williams College. Prior to joining AHM, she was staff attorney at the King County Defender Association, where she handled hundreds of misdemeanor cases throughout all stages of litigation, including trial. During her time at Allen, Hansen & Maybrown, Ms. Torres has worked with all three partners and continues to handle her own cases. In addition to her work at Allen, Hansen & Maybrown P.S., Ms. Torres volunteers with the King County Bar Association Neighborhood Legal Clinics’ bilingual clinic and the KCBA Volunteer Legal Services. Ms. Torres is a member of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (WACDL) and the Latino/a Bar Association of Washington. She is fluent in Spanish. As a law student, Ms. Torres was an editor for the Review of Law & Social Change and a volunteer at the New York Capital Defender Office. She also worked at the Legal Aid Society in New York, as the NYU JFK Jr. Juvenile Justice Fellow, and at the NAACP Legal Defense Fund as a clinic student. During her third year of law school, as a clinic student at the Equal Justice Initiative of Alabama, Ms. Torres handled the investigation and preparation of a state habeas petition in an Alabama death penalty case. |
